What is it?
Mental Training is the development of mental and psychological skills to ensure athletes are able to use their physical capabilities to their maximum potential and enhance their athletic performance. Mental training is the segment of sport psychology that concentrates specifically on helping athletes break through the mental barriers that are keeping them from performing at their peak potential
To bring sport performance to the next level.
To be successful in sport, athletes must possess all the required skills, techniques and abilities necessary for his or her sport. In addition to the physical talent, top athletes also possess superior mental toughness. For some athletes, mental training is an untapped option for improving sports performance, and don’t realize that resources are available to improve their mental game.
When under-performing, most athletes will head back into training and make changes to such things as technique, equipment, training strategy or coaching, when in fact the real challenges lie in the mental aspect of sport.
By combining mental training along with the physical demands of sport, athletes become fully equipped for peak performance.
ALL athletes of any age, level, or sport who are looking to take their performance to the next level!
You don’t need to have a “problem” to benefit from mental training.
The work of an athletic and mental performance consultant is often associated with sport “problems” such as mental blocks or debilitating competition anxiety. Although these issues are certainly within our scope of practice, the main purpose of mental training is to help athletes develop an overall competitive edge and to help take them to the next level of athletic performance.
